WORSHIP AT VALLEY

Are you looking for meaningfulengagingGod-focused worship?

Through worship, our hearts are free to focus solely on God and His loving presence. Whether we come before Him with what scripture calls a “spirit of heaviness” or a “heart that sings for joy to the living God,” worship offers us a time to align our perspective with His and know that in all things He is in control and worthy of all praise.

At Valley, you will find two different worship styles during weekend services. A “contemporary” worship time incorporates a team of vocalists and instrumentation such as guitar, keyboard, percussion, and brass. A “blended” worship time might consist of praise songs, songs by the choir, soloists or congregational worship led by an organist or pianist. The styles are different, but the desire to provide a time of personal, worshipful interaction with God is the same.

Worship Philosophy

Worship for us at Valley must be both biblical and relevant. Our goal for each person who comes to Valley for worship is that they will engage with God. To engage is to “involve, entangle, to interlock with, to mesh.”

Our goal is not simply to introduce people to God. We intend that each person will become purposefully entangled, interlocked with God and His message of grace and mercy in Christ. As Robert Webber has so succinctly defined worship, “Worship celebrates God’s saving deed in Jesus Christ.”
