PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Tuesday Clubs

September 9, 2008 - May 19, 2009
Cost: $25/child

Afternoon Clubs: 4:15-5:30 p.m.
Evening Clubs: 6:45-8 p.m.

Tuesdays are family time for parents and children through Grade 5. Dinner is offered from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children can have fun while growing in their faith through three clubs:

> Young Explorers
A high energy club for 4 and 5 year olds that helps them explore God's Word and the world around them. This time includes stories, exploration around the church, singing, games, crafts and other creative ways for children to learn some foundational truths about God. It's also a great way for children to learn classroom and relationship skills.

In order to register your child, he/she must have turned four by September 1.

> P31 Girls' Club
A club full of fun projects, lessons and presentations for Grades 1-5 to encourage the development of godly character and helpful life skills based on the Bible passage in Proverbs 31. Highlights of the club include game nights, social events, bring a friend days and a special mother/daughter tea. The girls are each given a sterling silver bracelet for participating in the club. They are also encouraged to memorize scripture and do special projects at home in order to receive charms to add to their bracelet.

> Boys' Brigade (evening only)
An action-packed club with projects, games and lessons for boys in Grade 1-5 to help them become true Christ-followers by learning from godly men. Most times start out with dodge ball or some active game followed by either a large group project time or small group classroom time. One of the highlights of this program is the Pinewood Derby race held in May. Each boy makes his own car and races it against the other cars. The boys also have social outings with their fathers such as bowling and pizza night or attending a ball game.

To register for clubs, complete a registration form and return it to the Children's Ministry.

> Nursery
The Nursery is available for children under 3 years old during afternoon and evening clubs.

Child Dedications

Child Dedication is typically offered three times a year at Valley — once in the fall, on Mother's Day and on Father's Day. Child Dedication classes are taught by one of our ministry team leaders.

This is an opportunity for parents to make a public declaration that they want God's perfect will to be established in the raising of their child and a chance for the church family to make a commitment to support the families in this task. If you have further questions, contact Karen Dauphinee at 673.6826 x124.

> Sign up to attend a Child Dedication class.

> Submit a photo of your child for the dedication service.

Ongoing Ministries

> Cradle Club
This is an outreach ministry for new moms and their babies. We introduce them to Valley and provide a package of small gifts and information about the nursery at the time of the visit.
If anyone is aware of a friend, relative or neighbor who would welcome a visit, call Karen Dauphinee at 860.673.6826 x124.

> Mom’s of Preschoolers (MOPS)
MOPS is an international organization designed to meet the needs of mothers of young children.  The goals of MOPS are to celebrate motherhood, meet moms’ needs, make connections and experience God’s love through relationships and resources. The meetings occur two Mondays per month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Contact Stephanie Boeshans at 860.673.6826 x377.

> MOPPETS
This ministry supports the MOPS program. We care for the children up to five years of age while mothers attend the MOPS meeting. The program includes a curriculum rich with the basic teachings of the Bible, music and craft activities. Teachers are trained and supervised by a team leader. Contact Karen Dauphinee at 673.6826 x124 for more information.

> Mothering Matters
Small groups of mothers who connect with mentors to support each other in Christian parenting. Contact Louise Beckwith at 860.673.9979.

> Coffee Connect
Coffee Connect is a group of women who get together every other Wednesday morning at Valley to serve and pray.
They can be found working on jobs behind the scenes to support the Children's Ministry as they support each other. Contact: Terrie Burke at 860.693.9239.

> Children’s Library Hours: Sundays 10:30-11:15 a.m. and some Saturday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. All children are welcome to receive a library card and check out any of the over 3,000 books, DVDs and other materials to take home and use to learn more about God. Our library is staffed with volunteers who are trained to use the computer and love connecting children to books.

The Library Lady is also a great addition to our program. She visits the Sunday school classes each month and shares books with the children on their age and interest level.
