Nursery and classes for 2s and 3s
Kids' Worship for 4s through Grade 2
Kids' Worship
Children begin their worship time in the sanctuary with their parents. Before the sermon, they are dismissed to go to Kids’ Worship, which gives them an opportunity for exploring worship further. This is a large group, activity-based opportunity for children to learn to worship God. In Kids' Worship, children will experience a time of Bible lessons, prayer time and other activities including praise songs, crafts, puppets and more.
Sunday School
We seek to provide a creative place where children are learning more about God and the Bible in a dynamic environment. We value a partnership with the parents knowing that this is the best way for children to grow spiritually. The classes are based on the age of the child. Various teaching methods are used to engage the children in the learning process. Classes are offered during all three worship services; however, we encourage families to worship together at one of the services.
The classes are taught by volunteers who have an expressed interest in children and who have completed an interview and security background check.
8 a.m. / Nursery and classes for 2s through Kindergarten
9:30 a.m. / Nursery and classes for 2s through Grade 5
11 a.m. / Nursery and classes for 2s through Grade 5
(At this hour, several classes use a large group format.)
A class missionary is assigned to each class so that the children can learn about Valley's missionaries while holding them up in prayer.
Special Needs
We have an inclusive setting for children with special needs. As we partner with parents to provide a loving and educational environment for all of the children, we attempt to meet the needs of each child. If there is a need for a child to have one-on-one assistance, the child is assigned a “Special Buddy” to work with them in the age-appropriate classroom. Contact Patsy Webb to set up a Special Buddy when needed.
